Captiva came back to us here in PA in December of 2006 as her owner's life just wasn't leaving any time for her.  Sadly, although her owner knew she needed to come back to us, it took over 9 months to make the call -- we're just glad she did.

Captiva is a sweet and silly soul, who enjoys the company of people over dogs...but like her sire, she also likes her 'alone time' on a bed and will jump a baby gate to get there <g>.  However, if left alone outside?  (even in the company of dogs) if she's not doing something, she barks and carries on to come into the house.  She's a bit of a paradox!  She does likes to cuddle and has wonderful house manners.  Her leash walking leaves a lot to be desired, so we're working on that -- she has been on several outings and has impressed us very much with her willingness to meet and greet people!  Captiva is a special girl, soft, but sweet and willing.  We have discovered that she is very gamey -- that means she is constantly on the hunt for birds and squirrels.  She is far more tolerant of car rides these days though the NorthEast's cold spell has made us all stay indoors more than usual.

We've had a lot of inquiries for this special girl and have given a lot of thought as to which home would be the best match for this special girl.  After we visited a prospective home, it was clear where she should be...Tiva left us in late April to begin her new life in Williamsport PA, only 2 hours from us and we hope to see her often.
We have heard from Bob, her new human, that things are going very well -- Captiva has settled in very well and they hope to begin obedience classes this summer!
