Xena!  The first of our dogs NOT to be named after an island, her name was the product of name evolution.  She was the green collar puppy.  Greenie, greenie beanie, beanie, xenie, xena!

A tomboy from the start, Xena is a go-getter.  She's always happy to try new things and meet new friends...especially if they have food or a tennis ball!  She has a real zest for life and is quite vocal when she's feeling left out!

Her first litter, the Chimeric 'D' litter  shows a lot of promise for the future, three AKC Champions and a daughter who earned her MACH in 2007!    Her sons have earned obedience and agility titles with more to come.  Son Talon is proving himself a wonderful sire, with 2 Ch offspring!  We look forward to many adventures with Xena...it's rarely dull when she's around!

We repeated our 'D'...the new kids are 'G'  -- they are great, grand and hearing about their adventures makes me think one should have been named  'Goes Good With Beer'!!!  So far, one daughter, Koko, has earned her AKC Championship - she is Ch. Chimeric Glad Tidings.  Brother Kiowa will complete his title in 2008.

Xena is spent last August in ME at Little Dove Farm learning herding - she is an awesome herding dog and Suzanne brought out the best in her!  She earned her HT in style and earned a PT leg to boot!  After over a year away from herding, we reunited Xena with Suzanne on November 10, 2008 and amazingly, the two worked together better than ever!  Xena earned that final PT leg in less than 7 minutes!  We are so very proud of her.

We had hoped for a final litter from Xena, but her CERF exam August 15, 2007 proved to be fateful...she has developed pinpoint cataracts in both her eyes - after many years of clear eye exams...and one year with a diagnosis of a punctate cataract that was then overruled by three other vets.  This latest exam was verified by two AVCO vets, so at almost 9, we have retired Xena from breeding.  She's left us some wonderful offspring and we'll hope for the best.
